Position Summary
Under the direction of the Community and Family Services Division Director and the Program Coordinator, the Tribal Advocate will assist the community and family services team with implementation of the Chugach Women’s Violence Intervention Project. Duties include providing domestic violence education and prevention, to adults and youth, as well as public awareness on domestic violence at community gatherings and health events. Position will be responsible for recruiting participants and maintaining project data for workshops. This position will also involve general case management, as needed, for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
High school graduate of G.E.D. required, Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or three years experience working with domestic violence services to Native Communities; familiarity with Alaska Native or Native American culture and customs.

Hours of work are up to 24 hours per week, and may vary according to program need. Chugachmiut maintains a drug/alcohol free/non-smoking environment. There will be occasion to travel to the rural villages of the Chugach Region. Incumbent must be willing and able to travel in light aircraft.
