Head Start Home Visitor

Position Summary
This position works with the Head Start program to provide a comprehensive developmentally appropriate program for preschool children and their parents, based in the home.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 19 years of age or older.
- Experience working with young children, particularly as a preschool teacher.
- Credential in Early Childhood (CDA) preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Desire/willingness to complete CDA program.
- CPR and First aid training
- Show respect for the family as the child’s first teacher.
- Ability to work a s a team player
- Bi-annual physical exam/TB screening
- Fingerprinting and background check required
Work Conditions
Hours of work are between Monday and Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with one hour for lunch, 25 hours per week, 35 weeks per year. Chugachmiut maintains a drug/alcohol free and non-smoking environment. Travel by small aircraft to remote locations may be required.
