Tribal Advocate

Location: Port Graham

Positon Summary
Under the supervision of the Domestic Violence Regional Coordinator (DVRC), the Port Graham Tribal Advocate will provide direct advocacy to victims of domestic violence (DV) and sexual assault (SA) residing in Nanwalek and Port Graham. The Tribal Advocates will also assistant the DVRC in community education efforts to increase DV/SA awareness.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Experience with DV service provision preferred
• Familiar with Alaska Native or Native American culture and customs
• Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint


Work Conditions

Hours of work will vary, but between Monday and Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with an hour for lunch, 15  hours per week. Chugachmiut maintains a drug/alcohol free and non-smoking environment. There will be occasional travel, must be willing and able to travel in light aircraft.
