Denali Hotshots Inter-agency Wildland Fire Crew
Inter-agency Hotshot crews are a specially trained and organized national resource. Hotshot crews are on-call 24-hours per day, seven days a week during the fire season and respond quickly to wildfires primarily located in Alaska and the western United States. Crews perform numerous fire suppression tasks, construct fire control lines and serve conservation and resource enhancement projects. Crewmembers are trained to conduct burning operations, operate pumps, engines and chainsaws, and perform helicopter management. Hotshot members are organized into a crew consisting of a superintendent, assistant superintendent, squadbosses, sawboss and crewmembers. |
