Under the general direction of the Community & Family Services Division Director, the incumbent is responsible for the Child Welfare System. Administrator responsibilities include: providing leadership, management, and support for Chugachmiut’s region-wide child welfare program development functions, and works to foster a success-oriented, accountable environment. In accordance with the mission and goals of Chugachmiut and within regulatory laws and standards, the Child Welfare System Administrator will design, coordinate, and implement a program of support, training, and delivery of services for the parents, children and families who have been identified as being at risk. Assignments will be performed with considerable independence, and require application of initiative and creativity.


  • Graduate degree in public health administration, law, human services, or related field and at least five years of progressively responsible experience related to the work of the position. A combination of work experience and education which conclusively demonstrates the ability to do the work may be substituted.
  • Evidence of significant successful program development and/or management.
  • Demonstrated experience in program planning, development, implementation and execution.

Work Hours:
Hours worked are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with an hour for lunch. This a full-time 37.5 hours per week and 1950 hours a year position. Chugachmiut maintains a drug and alcohol free, non-smoking environment. There may be occasional travel to the villages of the region, must be willing and able to travel in light aircraft.
