The Chugachmiut Regional Health Center has an on-site pharmacist available to fill prescriptions and provide information and education to patients. Medication boxes are provided to patients who have trouble keeping track of their medications, and the pharmacist will help patients in navigating the Alaska Native Medical Center (ANMC) automated refill system.
The pharmacist is a resource for providers and health aides regarding any medication questions and instructions on proper handling. Visits to village clinics are made yearly for site inspection and to meet with staff and patients. Often, the pharmacist will fill prescriptions for community patients when ANMC is not able to do so.
